Poiema Discipleship

What we believe
Homosexual expression, adultery and sexual immorality are all outside the will of God. Choosing to resolve homosexual tendencies through homosexual behavior, taking on a homosexual identity, or involvement in the homosexual lifestyle is destructive and perverts God's intent for His creation. That growth out of sexual addiction or homosexuality is possible for all who are committed to Christ and His will.
Counseling
We here in Poiema are not Professional counselors or licensed Christian therapists. We are a Christian based ministry that comes along side other Christians who are looking for Biblical counseling, teaching biblical sexual standards, encouragement, and support.
Discipleship
We here at Poiema help strugglers "navigate" spiritually, coming
alongside to support them as they search the Word of God to chart the course of their lives. The focus of our ministry are one-to-one relationships and small-group studies. We offer a one-on-one discipleship program with someone who has been there in your struggles to teach and encourage you so that you become rooted, built up, and grounded in Christ. We use the Navigators 2:7 series discipleship program and other Navigator materials. One by one, our goal is to fulfill the great commission to make disciples of all peoples including the sexually and relationally broken people and teaching them to follow Christ passionately by:
- apply the Bible to their daily lives,
- pass on what they learn to others, and
- train these new believers, in turn, to reach others.
Resources to The Church
Poiema is a safe environment for those who struggle with same sex attractions. We seek to come along side churches who desire to minister effectively to those in their own congregations. We seek to partner with church leadership, to listen to needs, concerns, and questions, and to offer available resources in response. This goal might be achieved through individual meetings, small group workshops, and /or congregational presentations. For more information, contact Will Abuzaid at 303-933-8733
